I'm CAPTIVATED!

I never would have thought that something like Libera would be a big part of my life. My music genre is definitely pop, I listen to Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus sorta, and I never thought that classical music will invade my interest (laugh). So why do I love Libera now?

I can still remember: It's April 1, almost ten in the evening and I am watching TV alone downstair. If I remember right, the movie I was in was Spiderman 3, @ channel 24, AXN. Hahaha the fact that I have seen this movie a lot of times already pushed me into switching into the other channels, and so I landed to Philippine's only music channel: MYX! I <3 MYX! Hahahaha! And then BOOM! There it is, I saw Libera, being featured in Myx present.

At first I saw them on the commercial, the running of lists for MYX presents for the Month of April. I saw Tom Cully in the music video of "You were there" (Of course that time I don't know the title yet)...So apparently, you were there is the first song of Libera that I heard. I instantly fell in love with their music, although as I have mentioned above I love pop music, but their songs just captivated me, caught something inside me, altered my emotions and left me listening to their songs more than anything.

That one fateful night, April 1. I met them. The first member that caught my attention was Tom Cully, of course, and then Micheal Horncastle. The first songs of Libera that I have downloaded into my phone was You were there and far away. Those two songs really made me sad, in a good way. I dunno, I just felt this odd emotions and made me wanna cry. One thing's for sure: I'M CAPTIVATED BY LIBERA AND I AM TOTALLY IN FOR LIBERA SYNDROME!!!!

First sight INTRODUCTION.

Okay... Libera...

Libera is a boy's choir  from London, and they're usually composed of no more than 40 boys between the age of 7 to 16. Libera is the latin word meaning "free" and I think, that would express the real essence of their music. This vocal group is directed by the infamous song writer, Robert Prizeman, and I think he is the best person in the world. Libera usually sings classical music, not the typical genre, but they have this wonderful melody that blends together as they go so high and made their music really awesome. Some say it was boring, and sleepy, but let me give my own perception on their songs, they are peaceful, soothing and relaxing. They usually go on tour, at their young age, going around UK, Asia and the US, performing on live concerts are promoting their albums. And yes, their albums were great! They have released a bunch of albums already, under EMI, and for me all of them were awesome.

Here's the second LOTM entry coming from Mary Pauline Vizcarra

I love Libera because they are all so talented and adorable. As young as 7, they get to travel in different parts of the world and amaze everyone who watch them leading to standing ovations, clapping and cheering. Libera boys aged 7-16 are well known for singing high treble notes. They all sound heavenly and majestic. They've recorded 12 successful albums. Their latest album "Peace" has hit the #37 spot in the UK Classical Charts.

I can be the best fan, because I've only know about them just this March in school, when our Music teacher played their Album Angel Voices: Libera in Concert DVD to us. I heard them sing "Bayan Ko" and since then I became a real fan. If I don't have a homework to do, I open the laptop and spend much of the time in Youtube watching Libera and researching about them. Libera indeed, have done a great job! They inspired me!

Here's the first LOTM entry coming from Charmaine Cayabyab.

Ever since, I love classical, Instrumental & Christian music.  I grew up in a surrounding where Christian music was always played at home, in school or even in church. I also joined choirs in school and church, I’m a bit shy singing in front of many people, so my voice was not too loud to hear, and I'm not so proud of it  (I always almost backing-out , but I can do nothing coz the older people is kinda forcing me...hahaha so even though it's not on my will to join the choir,, I always DID) but when I knew about Libera, I really regret my childhood days where I was in the line together with some choir children singing on stage,, I regret why I did not give my best to sing. (now I'm trying to sing  high notes but...BLAHHHHH I can't) my friends are laughing at me, *LOL* Before I knew anything about Libera , I'm already listening to some of the greatest and famous music of classical ages composed by the popular composer like Pachebel, Mozart, Bach & others.. I love Libera because they sound like an angel, so unique that most people do not appreciate.  Their sounds catches my ears attention, it was very relaxing and uplifting, with a touching lyrics. Their songs give me and inspiration, and lessen my problem. It is a kind of music that for me was very rare, rare because it is not usual to hear nowadays. I love the mixing of voices, harmonies and instruments. And of course, I love the cute, handsome, funny, talented & humorous little boys singing it. And I admire the man behind those ideas of beautiful music, Mr. ROBERT PRIZEMAN.

Thanks for Libera in giving me  LESSON ( I should not hate singing in choir when i was young.), INSPIRATION (If I will have kids someday , I want them to be on choir, and tell them to love it from their hearts (*so futuristic*)XD....

Thanks, THAT's All FOLK!

LOTM - October

Entry by: Dua Azarcon

I really haven't hear of Libera before but after my grandfathers death, I found solstice and comfort in their songs. And that's just one reason why I love them. Their songs comfort the soul and they choose no rank, personality or things like those to be able to hear their songs. Their songs had helped me through the hard times of my life like when my grandfather left me, the song "Going Home" made me realize that it wasn't the end of his life, but just the beginning of a brand new one. The song "Secret" made me feel a little better when I thought that my best friend was back-stabbing me. There must be a thousand reasons why I love them but the one I mentioned above was the most inspiring and main reason on me being able to love them.
The next reason is that they have been showing the world fresh new talents and that they have proved that the music does need, not only a feminine touch but also a touch of men itself. Even if some of my favorite members have outgrown their years in Libera, I'm certain that because this amazing group; their future's are not dimly lighted as they seemed before.
I indeed love Libera and I think I can be the best fan. Why? Because, I have always listened to their songs and I nearly have all the lyrics memorized and also because that my affection and adoration for Libera has influenced my family to spend a bit more time listening to godly music like their's and that brought our entire family closer to our religion. If that's not enough reasons, I can also say that I can apply their songs to situations that I usually find myself nerve-wrecked. For example when i took my first-periodical exam, i hummed the tune of "Gaudete" as i answered and it helped me make it through the test and when on stage, i also hummed the tune of "Love And Mercy" as I waited my turn to speak and I never found the stage a frightening place again.
I could really just go on and on but the fact that Libera has changed my life is enough proof for me that there will always be a reason to love and adore Libera.
      Thank you for reading..........
