Possible 2011 Philippine Tour

Libera have been to the Philippines twice already; during their 2009 tour held at the Waterfront, Cebu City as well as in the PICC, and their 2010 summer tour held at the RCBC Plaza. Both of these concerts were sold-out, even if it is their first time to have a concert here.

Sine then, The connection between the Filipinos and Libera grew, and the choir became aware of the support coming from the PH. In return, Libera made a performance of the Philippines' patriotic song, "Bayan Ko" which made all of the Filipinos happy and proud. This song was also featured on PAL's (Philippine Airlines) flights and was included in PolyEast's Philippine version of New Dawn as a bonus track.

After these events, it was made known all over the cyber world that most of Libera's fans are from the Philippines, and it is possible that Libera will be coming back to have another tour this year. Now, it is almost CONFIRMED, although there were no reassurances yet with the exact Date and Location.. During Libera's "Inspirational Breakfast" interview, Daniel and James have mentioned that for the year 2011, they are planning to have a "Southeast Asian Tour."

Southeast Asia is consisted of the following Countries:
Brunei
Burma
Cambodia
Timor-Leste
Indonesia
Laos
Malaysia
Philippines
Singapore
Thailand (and)
Vietnam

http://mini-angels.blogspot.com have posted these lines on their blog:

"The real definition of Southeast Asia is the countries on this map like the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Sometimes it can also include Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan, but it doesn't usually mean Japan or Korea."

"Now it COULD mean they want to do another Japan, Korea, Philippines tour like last April."

" If they do go to the Philippines, maybe they will bring those impossible-to-find CD's and sell them there! That would make a lot of people very happy!"

A 2011 Philippine Tour for Libera is not yet really confirmed, but let us all hope that it will be, soon. When that happens, the following events will surely took place:

1. A grand Meet-up between the Filipino fans.
2. The availability of Peace: Deluxe Edition in the Philippines.
3. Another sold-out for Libera.
4. The fans who were not able to meet them last April will finally get the chance to meet them.

So Liberians, be ready! Once everything is confirmed, all of the things that were mentioned above will happen. See you there!

"O Sanctissima"

Songs of Praise had once again featured Libera for their new episode that shows us Sally Magnusson's journey along the Sussex Market town and her exposure along the aristocratic heritage of the Arundel Cathedral. This episode also brings us the newest music video of Libera, "O Sanctissima" which was reported to be filmed last October inside the majestic wonders of the Cathedral.
"O Sanctissima" is a track included on Libera's 2010 album, "Peace" and Mini-Ben is the soloist.

A lot of people are saying that Mini-Ben isn't so Mini anymore. Everybody started calling him "Mini-Ben" because there were used to be two Ben's in the choir, Ben Philipp and Ben Crawley.

A snapshot taken from "Lacrymosa" wherein Ben is also the soloist. He was so young in this video.

In this video "O Sanctissima" we can see the grown-up Benedict Philipp who recently celebrated his 15th Birthday
last 7th of January.
This video have a lot of illumination in it, and in this snapshot we can see the boys of Libera walking in the central isle of the Arundel Cathedral, illuminated like angels.

"Lullabye-is-the-last-video-of-Josh" seems to be proven wrong. First we saw him on their recent SOP performance of "Eternal Light" and now in this video we can see him again at the back, long after he have had his 16th birthday, which is usually the right age wherein most of the members leave the choir. These recent and continues appearances of Josh is maybe telling us that they can still stay in the group as long as they still have their high voice.

Also in the background we can see the magnificent altar of the Arundel Cathedral.

Here are the younger members of Libera seen in the video, singing their parts. We can see (from left to right) Freddie, Daniel, Mini-James, Ralph and Kav. Behind Kav is Jakob, unseen in this shot, and Matthew as well. You can see them in the video.

All in all, the video was great and Libera had once again, given us something we will never forget. Having 0 "Dislikes" on YouTube, "O Sanctissima" will be one of the greatest performances of Libera.

The founding of LPH

I've been a fan of Libera, as soon as I saw them on TV. "You were there" was the first Libera song that I have ever heard, so I consider it, the song that touches me. Since then, I began connecting with the other Libera fans, especially to my kababayans: the Filipino Libera community. Well, the socialization between the fans was amazing, thanks to Facebook, the exchange of communications was made easy. As time goes by and the community grows like a family. During that time, the fans are really active, and we were talking every night about Libera. I can still remember the time in which when you posted something that includes the word 'Libera', expect a lot of comments from the fans. That's the time when I though, "We need a name or a term that will represent us, Filipino Libera fans"; our own recognition.
I have two choices (although, yes at first it sounded silly): Liberians or Liberanatics. I asked my friends, which is better, and as it soon turns out, Liberians became our specification.

The first ever Liberians PH community page was created last July 24, three months after Libera's last Philippine summer promo tour. On August 18, LPH already reached 110 members who are actively involved in all the posts and events that we have been posting. 2 days after, a new page was created: LPH's fan page. I think a fan page is better than a group page, because it has more features and tab that the members may enjoy, although unlike in a group page, the administrators can send a message to all of its members.

When all of the Filipino fans are now aware of the new fan page, the community became more active. News and updates were posted every night, and photo sharing is everywhere as well. It grows more and more as time passes by until such time that even foreign fans came to be part of this page, and so, the term "Liberians" which is originally intended to represent us, have fulfilled its purpose. As of now, we have 5 admins and 423 people who likes this page, and still we are in the process of a growing community, having the mission of spreading the music influences of Libera, and to give our 100 and 1% of support for the choir.

Mini-Ben and Sammy's Birthday!

January 6, 2011..

Benedict Philipp, one of Libera's best soloists, is turning 15 today! Everyone knows that once a Libera member turns 16, they will soon leave the choir, but on Libera's Christmas video greetings posted on their official YouTube account, Joshua Madine is still there, and he was also spotted from their latest music video, "Eternal Light." Does this mean that even though they are already 16, as long as their voice is still high, they could still be able to be part of the choir? I hope this same thing would happen to our Mini-Ben.. I mean, who would want him or any member to leave the group? He also have a very high voice and he did most of the solo parts from their 2010 album, "Peace," so I hope that these reasons are enough for most of the boys to stay in the group as long as they can still sing high notes.

And Sammy's turning 13 today, another great soloist! I hope you two have a great birthday and I hope you'll get everything you wish for!
